Omi International Arts Center seeks part-time Director for Architecture Omi.
Architecture Omi is a new program conceived to facilitate installations of architecturally based sculptural forms or sculpturally based structures that explore the line between architecture and sculpture. Approximately 50 to 100 acres have been designated for these installations and it is estimated that one to three installations per year will occur. The installations can be pavilion-like in size and concept or larger structures used to exhibit art, or even independent satellite museums located on the Omi Arts Center Campus.
The Director will lead the process to identify proposals for self funded installations, manage a board of directors/advisors and committees, develop partnerships with like minded organizations, assist program applicants with fund raising concepts and initiatives. The Director will administer all aspects of the program, including installations as they occur, building web archive, organizing exhibitions, discussion panels, and other program related events in our gallery space or in New York City.
Candidate must have extensive knowledge of contemporary architecture and art.
Position is part time (approximately 15 to 20 hours per week). Candidates may live in New York City or Columbia County (or both) and should make themselves familiar with the Omi International Arts Center programs and campus (see our website, www.artomi.org). Annual salary $20,000.
